Custom Timber Frame Home Design

Custom designing a timber frame home is a very rewarding experience for our owners. Your personal aesthetics, material preferences, building site requirements, budget, and importantly dreams for a custom home of the highest quality, are included in the custom Woodhouse design process.

Our very first timber frame home was a custom design (1979/1980) and ever since, Woodhouse has provided our clients with custom design services of the highest level found within the timber frame industry. In fact, one of the co-founders of Woodhouse's predecessor, Solar Northern, had a degree in architecture from MIT and the other, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture - a great combination for a creative design process. From our earliest years we've had a licensed architect as a key member of our design team.

We continually push the envelope with our design services. From a site visit and design consultation where we spend the day with you at your property, to final construction drawings, we involve you - our client - in a custom and comfortable design process to evolve the optimum home of your dreams.

From conceptual drawings we work together through a series of design iterations each step reflecting changes and ideas growing from the previous iteration. This provides you with every opportunity to be involved in the process to the degree and price that you choose, ultimately reflecting the integration of your ideas and a comprehensive timber-framed designed home.

The custom design process is suitable for all sizes and styles of timber frame and hybrid homes. From one room additions to expansive resort homes, from starter homes to commercial buildings, the Woodhouse custom design process serves all.

To discuss the details of the Woodhouse post and beam custom design process please speak with your Regional Sales Manager who can explain costs, options, and how the process could unfold your dream home.
