New Sagamore Smartwood!

Woodhouse is excited to introduce our new SmartWood pre-designed timber frame design, Sagamore! A member of the Adirondack series of homes, the Sagamore is a modified version of our MountainView plan. The dormers were redrawn as a split shed and gable, and the master bedroom was enlarged with a new closet area. The gorgeous covered porch was also added.

There is actually a new Sagamore home being built right now in Bolton Landing, New York. It's the first from our new Adirondack series of SmartWoods to be built! Glenn Trudell, our Northeast Regional Sales Manager set out to build the home with his company, Trubilt, Inc. He had planned on building it with the hopes of selling it after, but as it turns out, the home was sold before they even dug a hole!

Timber framing was used throughout the entire living space including the lower level, the breezeway and the office space over the garage. The home totals over 5,000 square feet of space. There are 3 bedrooms with a first floor master suite, and 3 1/2 baths in the design. The connector to the garage was turned into a timbered sunroom with a wet bar. The two second floor bedrooms are connected by a bridge loft that looks down upon the great room and to the stunning views through the wall of windows. The large two story great room in the open first floor design has views to the kitchen and dining area. The lower level was laid out with a large recreation area, a second home office and a kennel area.

Typically, our homes are made with a select dense coastal Douglas Fir. But for this home, a faster growing Eastern slope Douglas Fir is being used. It's less dense, but has great color and is significantly less expensive than the denser version - a great option for timber frame building!
